DALLAS (AP) — A man has died in Dallas police custody after a struggle and being subdued with a Taser.

Police on Tuesday did not immediately release the name of the man or a possible cause of death. Sr. Cpl. Chinh (chen) Weltman says authorities are trying to gather more information.

Officers responded to a disturbance call Monday night about a man exhibiting erratic behavior. Police found him in a parked vehicle that belonged to someone else.

Police say the man refused to get out of the car, opened the door and was removed by officers. A struggle ensued and additional officers were called. That's when an officer used his Taser on the man, who then showed signs of medical distress.

The man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
