The agave byproduct left over after making tequila known as fibers, could soon be used to help develop better bio plastics for use in vehicles. According to a Ford press release, the two companies are currently testing the left overs for use in both interior as well as exterior parts including wiring harnesses and storage bins.

As it stands now, Jose Cuevo is using these left overs as compost for farms, and agave paper used in crafts by local artisans.
