AMARILLO, Texas (AP) — A fire has destroyed most of a motel in the Texas Panhandle. No injuries were reported.

Oldham County Chief Deputy Brent Warden tells the Amarillo Globe-News (http://bit.ly/1NQAExa ) that the fire Tuesday at the Royal Inn Motel in the community of Wildorado started in a corner unit and spread, destroying a significant portion of the L-shaped motel.

The newspaper reports that the motel is one of the last original Route 66 businesses in Wildorado, located just west of Amarillo.

The fire's cause is undetermined, though Potter County Fire Chief Fire Chief Richard Lake said it might have been an electrical issue.

He says, "The owners, they reside there in the office area ... they've been here forever."
