San Angelo and the Concho Valley certainly doesn't slack off when it comes to celebrating America's Independence day. We've put together a list of options for your to choose from in San Angelo and around the Concho Valley.

3. The Christoval Volunteer Fire Department's Firecracker 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will take runners on a tour of beautiful downtown Christoval and more! The Annual 4th of July BBQ will be from 11AM - 2PM at the Community Center with BBQ plates for $10.00 (all 5K and fun run participants get the meal included in their entry fee). There's a big raffle with gift cards, a pair of boots, and more.

4. The Rowena Lions Club's 'Meet You at the Square' BBQ Cook-off will be held in downtown Rowena this Saturday. You can enter brisket, ribs, chicken, beans, and margarita contests, and there's a washer pitching contest too. The 4-H Club will be selling BBQ sandwiches and drinks. 5. The Hero's Music Festival will feature Sean McConnell, American Aquarium, Band of Heathens, and Green River Ordinance. Gates open at Noon, and there will be lots of kid's activities, fireworks, and camping is available. Tickets are $25.00 in advance.

6. The 4th of July Mertzon Boy Scout Barbeque Lunch will begin at 11:30 at the Irion County Community Center. Enjoy a brisket & sausage lunch with beans and lots of tasty trimmings! To go plates are available and there's a pre-sale on brisket & sausage for $7.00 per pound, 5 pound minimum. Call or text 325-226-5088 to pre order.

7. The Wall July 4th Parade begins at 10AM at the Wall Co-Op. Everyone is invited to participate. Registration begins at 8AM and the parade will end at the High School. After the parade, there's a meal, awards ceremony for the top parade participants, and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Wall Volunteer Fire Department.

8. The Ivey Motors Golf Tournament begins at 8am in Robert Lee. Call 453-2317 for entry information. There's also lots of fun at the Robert Lee Park with lawn mower racing, swimming, food, vendors, music by Brandon Bohall and fireworks.

9. Bronte's 4th Celebration begins at 6pm with a free picnic, auction, and fireworks.

10. The Reagan County Park in Big Lake opens at 6pm for a fun evening with music beginning at 8, with Kyle Park performing at 10:30. The fireworks show starts after sundown and admission is free!
