Body Of Boy Recovered In Lake
LAREDO, Texas (AP) — Authorities say the body of a 13-year-old boy who drowned while swimming in a Laredo lake has been found.
The Laredo Morning Times (http://bit.ly/1tet1sn ) reports that the boy's body was found floating in Lake Casa Blanca early Wednesday. The boy had been missing since Tuesday evening, when he went under water and did not resurface.
Officials identified the boy as Olvin Ivan Madrid Espana. A Laredo school district spokeswoman says Madrid had enrolled Tuesday as an 8th grader at Christian Middle School. He was a new student to the district from Honduras.
Game Warden Capt. Michael Durand said Madrid relatives had been barbecuing at the lake Tuesday. He said the teen and two girls were swimming in a designated area when Madrid began struggling and then went under water.
