Boating Accident Claims Two Lives
HOUSTON (AP) — Authorities say a man and a woman have died in a boating accident at a lake northeast of Houston.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office says two bodies were recovered late Tuesday from the San Jacinto River.
KPRC-TV reports investigators are trying to determine whether the 14-foot fishing boat went over a spillway on Lake Houston, with a 40-foot drop. The damaged boat was seen floating upside-down. KTRK-TV reports a life jacket was spotted near a tree, helping lead to the bodies.
Authorities hope a truck and trailer left behind at a boat launch will help identify the two victims.
Messages left with the sheriff's office weren't immediately returned Wednesday.
