HOUSTON (AP) — A Houston cab driver has been fatally shot after arriving home from work.

Houston police on Monday sought the attacker in what investigators believe was an attempted robbery outside the taxi driver's residence.

Police say the cabbie pulled up to his townhome late Sunday night when an armed person confronted him, opened fire and fled. The victim's roommate discovered the wounded driver, who was transported to a hospital where he died early Monday.

Investigators say nothing appears to have been stolen from the taxi or from the driver, whose name wasn't immediately released.

Further details weren't immediately available.
