KYLE, Texas (AP) — Authorities have declined to charge two boys after a BB gun fired aboard a Central Texas school bus left two other students and the driver slightly hurt.

The Hays County Sheriff's Office says a 10-year-old boy who had the gun did not aim at anyone. Deputy Stephen Traeger says an 8-year-old boy is too young to be prosecuted over the incident on a Hays Consolidated Independent School District bus.

Two students suffered minor foot injuries after being struck by BBs on Monday afternoon. The driver was nicked. Emergency personnel determined nobody was seriously hurt.

District spokesman Tim Savoy says the two boys from Science Hall Elementary in Kyle will face school disciplinary procedures. A letter to parents about the incident notes BB guns are prohibited at school and on buses.
