The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public. The dress code for military personnel attending is uniform of the day.

ASU Cadet Col. Jacob Spiller of Hamilton will receive his commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. A business management major, Spiller was the 2015 Cadet of the Year for the Southwest Region. Previously a nine-year enlisted member of the Air Force who served as an F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft crew chief, Spiller has already been selected for his first choice in the Air Force aircraft maintenance career field upon commissioning.

The guest speaker will be Air Force Lt. Col. Scott M. Partin, commander of ASU’s ROTC Detachment 847. Partin also serves as a professor and head of ASU’s Department of Aerospace Studies. Like Spiller, Partin was an Air Force enlisted airman before earning his commission through Air Force ROTC.
