See the Award Winning Drama ‘Rabbit Hole’ at Angelo State Theatre

University Theatre at Angelo State University will conclude its 2014-15 season with the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama “Rabbit Hole” April 30-May 3 and May 7-9 in the ASU Modular Theatre.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. this Thursday-Saturday, and May 7-9, with a matinee at 2 p.m. this Sunday, May 3. Tickets are $8 for the general public, $4 for non-ASU students and $3 for ASU students. Admission is free for Arts at ASU subscribers and ASU activity card holders. The ASU Modular Theatre is located in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

Written by Boston native David Lindsay-Abaire, “Rabbit Hole” premiered in 2006, was nominated for several Tony Awards and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2007. The play, adapted for the 2010 movie starring Nicole Kidman, charts the effects on family members after a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down.

“Rabbit Hole” contains strong language and is centered on an emotionally challenging topic, the death of a child.

Cathryn Sanders, director of Angelo Civic Theatre, is the guest director for the ASU production. Eldra Sanford, ASU’s resident costumer, and Matt Chilcoat, ASU’s resident technical director, are also working on the production.

The student cast includes Alison Morantes as Nat, Megan Croyle as Becca, Julia McDaniel as Izzy, Tyler Hastings as Howie and Nick T. Cline as Jason. Nick S. Cline is the male understudy.

The student production staff includes Samantha Lewis, scenic design assistant; Angela Baumann, assistant lighting designer and board operator; Daniel Coyle, sound technician; Bryce Real, master carpenter; Sean Gibbons, carpenter; Callie Stenson, master electrician; Jose Villedas, electrician and assistant stage manager; Brittani Beggs, wardrobe supervisor; Leslie Schniers, assistant wardrobe supervisor; Abe Millar, properties; Andrew Hertel, house manager; and Elizabeth Holland, stage manager.
