Texas motorists now have a more permanent way to show their support for Angelo State University with the debut of the new ASU license plates now available through the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Each ASU plate features the royal blue “U” with the gold ram horn from the official ASU logo with the words “Angelo State Rams” underneath. It was designed by the ASU Communications and Marketing Office at the request of ASU President Brian J. May.

“The last time I went to renew my vehicle registration, I noticed that license plates were available with logos from many Texas universities, as well as universities from other states,” May said. “Now the ASU community, alumni and supporters can show that their school spirit is just as strong, while also helping the university raise money for various programs.”

The fee for the new ASU plates is $30 for non-personalized plates and $70 for personalized plates ($30 plates fee, plus $40 personalization fee). A portion of each purchase will be donated back to ASU.

Customers can apply for the ASU plates online at www.txdmv.gov, by mail with the form VTR-999 or in person at their local county tax assessor/collector’s office.
