The Angelo State University Symphony Orchestra will present a free public concert titled “Beethoven vs. The Barber” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the ASU Auditorium located in the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Avenue N.

The musical program will feature Beethoven’s Overture to “Egmont,” Op. 84, and “Allegro con brio” from Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67, as well as Rossini’s Overture to “The Barber of Seville” and “March of the Swiss Soldiers” from Overture to “William Tell.” The concert will also include Polovstian Dances from Borodin’s “Prince Igor.”

The ASU Symphony Orchestra is directed by Dr. Maurice Kelley, assistant professor of music. Dr. Constance Kelley, ASU’s interim director of bands, will serve as master of ceremonies.
