Angelo State University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is inviting community business and organization leaders to access the knowledge and experience of world-renowned leadership experts during Leadercast San Angelo on Friday, May 5, at the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center.

The Leadercast event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as it is broadcast live from Atlanta, Ga., to hundreds of sites around the world, including ASU. This year’s theme, “Powered by Purpose,” explores how purpose is the glue for organizations and individuals, as well as how today’s organizations cannot rely on old practices as a new type of organization emerges with the igniting power of purpose as its driving force. The speaker lineup includes:

  • Tyler Perry – Director, playwright, screenwriter, producer, actor, author and entrepreneur
  • Jim McKelvey – Co-founder of Square and founder of LaunchCode
  • Suzy Welch – Author, TV commentator and business journalist
  • Dr. Henry Cloud – Leadership expert, clinical psychologist and best-selling author
  • Jess Ekstrom – CEO of Headbands of Hope
  • Daniel Pink – Behavioral science expert, best-selling author and host of Crowd Control
  • Molly Fletcher – Former Top Sports agent and author
  • Andy Stanley – Leadership author and communicator
  • Donald Miller – CEO of StoryBrand

More than 100,000 people around the world are expected to attend this year’s 18th annual Leadercast. Attendees at the ASU event, co-sponsored by KIDY Fox, Sam’s Club and Chick-fil-A, will also receive a Leadercast journal filled with additional details, places to take notes, and practical application tools to use after the conference. They can also participate directly in the conference through Facebook and Twitter.

Advance registration is required and is now open for Leadercast San Angelo at $99 per person for the general public. Online registration, as well as more details on corporate rates, rates for ASU Alumni Association members and rates for ASU faculty, students and staff, is available at www.angelo.edu/leadercast. The site also contains information about available continuing education credits.
