Thirty eight year old Andres Andrade was arrested Thursday for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon after pointing a firearm at a family.
Thursday at 7:23 pm, San Angelo Police responded to the area of Shannon Hospital for a call of a subject with a weapon. Officers arrived at Shannon and spoke with the victims. A 27 year old male victim reported he was driving to Shannon with his family, a 28 year old female and 2 year old son, when a male subject, identified as Andrade, driving a gray pickup was driving closely to the victims’ vehicle and trying to go around them but was unable to do so because of traffic. At the intersection of Chadbourne and Harris Andrade exited his vehicle and pointed a handgun at the victims. The victims drove away and continued to Shannon. Andrade followed the victims there and got out of his vehicle and again pointed the gun at the victims.
Andrade had left prior to Officers arriving at Shannon; however, Andrade was located driving in the area and was stopped by Officers. During the investigation, a black BB gun was located in Andrade’s vehicle. Detective Jeremy Cannady was contacted and went to the scene to investigate the incident.
Due to the ability of the BB gun to cause serious injury and the victims fearing for their life by Andrade pointing the gun at them and threatening to shoot them, Andrade was placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Andrade was transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
