WACO, Texas (AP) — A Central Texas woman has been arrested after her 2-year-old daughter died this week from head and internal injuries.

Twenty-one-year-old Emily Ann Hudson is charged with injury to a child causing death and was being held Friday at the McLennan County jail on a $250,000 bond.

Sheriff Parnell McNamara tells the Waco Tribune-Herald (http://bit.ly/1vvNXNZ ) the girl was found by deputies Wednesday at a home near Lacy Lakeview, north of Waco. He says the child was unresponsive and had visible injuries. She later died at a hospital.

Hudson was arrested a day later. She initially claimed her daughter had fallen in the tub but McNamara says Hudson later admitted to causing the injuries.

He described the death as a "horrendous crime."

Online jail records do not indicate an attorney for Hudson.
