2015 Showdown in San Angelo
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 26-28, the annual Showdown in San Angelo Drag Boat Races will churn up the waters at Lake Nasworthy, as top fuel hydro boats roar down the race track at speeds that can exceed 260 miles per hour. Advance discounted ticket sales will end on Thursday, June 19th on Showdown’s website,
ShowdowninSanAngelo.com, and at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25th at the advance ticket locations.
Beginning Friday, June 26th, tickets will be available at regular prices at the gates at Spring Creek and Grassy Meadows.
Advance ticket locations through 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 25th are the Chamber of Commerce, NAPA Auto Parts, West Central Wireless, Joe’s Ice House, Johnny Carino’s Restaurant, and Suddenlink.
Ticket Prices:
Friday, June 26: $10 Advance; $12 at the gate
One-day Pass (Sat. or Sun.): $20 Advance; $25 at the gate
3-Day Pass: $40 Advance; $45 at the gate
3-Day Cooler Pass (Maximum 50 Quarts / No Glass): $20
Reserved Table under the VIP Tent (seats 8): $1,000
Single Ticket under the VIP Tent (open seating): $125
Two opportunities will be offered to meet the drivers and inspect the boats during two free Show & Shine events. The first will be on Thursday, June 25th from 6-7:30 pm in the parking lot of presenting sponsor Twin Peaks Restaurant. The second will be held from 6-7:30 pm on Friday, June 26th at Mary Lee Park.
On Sunday, June 28th, a worship service will be held at Spring Creek at 8 am, and the race will begin at the conclusion of the service at 9 am.
Viewing areas for the race will be at Spring Creek Marina and at Grassy Meadows Park, and food and souvenir vendors will be available in both areas. A map is available on the Showdown website.
