HOUSTON (AP) — A dozen men have been charged in a Houston-area online sex solicitation ring in which the suspects allegedly thought they were chatting with children.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office says hundreds of men went online to chat with individuals they apparently believed were youngsters. The suspects instead were in contact with prosecutors, officers and deputies.

Prosecutors on Monday announced 12 suspects were arrested when they showed up at a home to meet with someone they thought was an underage child.

All face charges of online solicitation of a minor. If convicted, the men who were arrested last Wednesday through Friday face up to 20 years in prison.
